Qiao Bo is a senior partner in Jade & Fountain's Shanghai office. He started his legal profession since the mid 1990s with a major PRC law firm and has extensive hands-on experience in corporate, M&As, banking and finance, construction and dispute resolutions. Qiao Bo also worked in a major Hong Kong law firm between 2004 and 2005 working for a number of major foreign clients there and therefore gained substantial exposure with common law and international practices. Qiao Bo joined Jade & Fountain in 2008.

In corporate area, Qiao Bo assisted many multinational clients in making investment and doing mergers and acquisitions in China covering various sectors. For example, Qiao Bo represented Kodak in its acquisition of Lucky Film’s part of equity in 2005 and provided legal counsel to major US and European companies or their regional headquarters.

In banking and finance, Qiao Bo represented major banks such as Tokyo-Mitsubishi Bank, ANZ, Eximbank of China and ICBC on syndicated loan projects, ship finance projects and legal compliance requirements. He also worked on behalf of corporate clients in getting finance and credit from banks. He is experienced in handling complicated finance arrangement between clients and financial institutions. Qiao Bo also advised clients on Chinese legal issues regarding financial derivative products.

Qiao Bo is very experienced in doing construction projects both in terms of biddings, contract negotiation and dispute resolutions. Qiao Bo advised clients on shipbuilding projects and represented clients in resolving disputes under shipbuilding contracts and power plant EPC contracts through arbitration in China and overseas. Qiao Bo represented clients in many international arbitration cases conducted at organizations like London Maritime Arbitrators Association, Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission; he also represents clients in PRC court proceedings. Qiao Bo is a member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of UK.

Acting as outside counsel for many clients, Qiao Bo provides invaluable expertise and cost-effective services to meet the clients’ needs in areas such as capital market, real property, employment and intellectual property.
