Our IP team led by Yang Jun is retained by FIBA (Fédération Internationale de Basketball Associations) as legal counsel for RPP (Right Protection Program) of FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 in China. The 16-day World Cup event will take place in 8 Chinese cities (Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Nanjing, Dongguan, Foshan) from August 31, 2019 with 32 national basketball teams involved in the game. A team of 9 lawyers from Jade＆Fountain will be deployed in each of the host cities to provide on-the-ground legal services for FIBA. FIBA’s RPP is essentially designed to counter potential IP infringements and ambush marketing practices. Jade＆Fountain has also assisted FIBA in lobbying meetings with authorities in the above host cities.
